Katalin Gergo

Originally from Hungary, Gergo began a formal art education in Budapest and continued in the United States at the Cleveland Institute of Art and in New Orleans through independent studies with Edgar A. Whitney, Milford Zomes, Robert E. Wood, Auseklis Ozols and others. She is a superior draftsman and her paintings show that attention to detail characteristic of classic art. She became a faculty member at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts in 1986, working in watercolor, oil, acrylic and mixed media. and has exhibited in solo, group and invitational shows, nationally and locally, winning numerous awards.
