One of the earliest members of Newcomb College, she is credited with producing the first piece of pottery. She also adapted fine arts to commercial use, inventing the first New Orleans “postcard”. The subject was the beloved Praline Vendor on the college campus. She married a Professor of Engineering at Tulane, William B. Gregory; their daughter Angela Gregory was a pioneer female artist of freestanding and architectural sculpture in the nation.
